Francisco Palau y Quer was born in the town of Aytona, Diocese and Province of Lerida (Spain). His parents were José Francisco Palau Miarnau and Maria Antonia Quer Esteve. He was baptized on the same day by the parish priest José Sierra of that same parish church. (Positio p. XXXVII).
