1910 - FIRST DEPARTURE OF THE CONGREGATION OUTSIDE OF SPAIN TO THE AMERICAN CONTINENT.
The pioneers, six courageous daughters of Fr. F. Palau reached Argentina, the gateway to the New Continent, with Villa Mercedes (San Luis) as the first community in America. The sisters started for the first time in an old house and settled down without making noise. They ministered with a convincing efficiency. The chronicles say: “The spiritual temple supplied the initial lack of means. The first community of Villa Mercedes began to work immediately as if it were installed in a familiar and known place.”
1925 - THE FIRST MISSIONARY EXPEDITION to Colombia.
Boarding in Barcelona, on 10th October, the first missionary expedition was bound for the Carmelite mission of Urabá (Colombia) of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers. Six brave “Carmelite Missionaries” began their happy journey accompanied by Fr. Severino of Saint Teresa. Do not fail to read the chronicle. The departure from the community of the Mother House was movingly expressive and very emotional. The sisters accompanied the missionaries up to the port. (cf. p. 789, Vol. II History CM
