The evening of February 18, 1866.
The Feast on the mountain
Although he presents himself to us as a a dirty, undressed soldier and unworthy of his Beloved, Palau invites us to the feast. He perceived that She counts him among the trusted warriors. The text on Is. 63, 2 ff is appropriated to him with such realism and depth. He is also perceived as a faithful lover. Confused for such recognition, he concluded: "I renewed my vows of love, fidelity and loyalty to her, and she accepted them."
