To D. Mariano Puigllat Amigó, Bishop of Lerida.

The bishop was opposed to Fr. Palau preaching in his diocese. He writes not to ask for explanations but to facilitate communication if the bishop has something against him. He attempts to clarify it in an exemplary humility: Your Excellency, I preach by obedience and if by obedience you withdraw me from preaching, my conscience remains tranquil.
