On the occasion of the festivities of the Merced, El Ermitaño addresses itself to the people of Barcelona, warning the deluded against materialism; the ephemeral joy does not fill up human existence. Believers are encouraged to come to Christ and his Mother, with the surety of being cared for. Ask from Mary of the Merced the freedom for our country. She is the redeemer of captives.
